    Mrs. Debbie Alaniz
Our children are our future!
Mrs. Alaniz
Hello, My name is Debbie Alaniz and I am currently one of the 7th grade math teachers at Andrews Middle School. I have always had a desire to teach Science and Math, so I returned to college after being a stay at home mom for ten years. I received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology with a Minor in Mathematics. Before, working in Andrews I taught at Reagan Magnet School in Odessa. I was thrilled when I was hired here in Andrews, since I have lived here for 22 years and I am planning to call it home for a long time to come.
I am a Mother of three and a Grandmother of one. My oldest daughter, Jackie is currently attending Odessa College, and is the wonderful mother of my granddaughter Kessiah. Danielle, my second child is a sophomore at Andrews high school and Ryan, my youngest is an 8th grader at Andrews middle school.
The Classroom
My goal in the classroom is to engage each student by helping them demonstrate, examine, create, justify and evaluate many math concepts. We will do so as a whole group, in pairs, in small groups and individually. I truly want to impart to each student, life skills in the area of mathematics that will help him or her way beyond my classroom. It has been a wonderful year and I am looking forward to many more years to come.
